as someone who has lived in DHS for over 10 years i wouldnt advise anyone to live here. There is nothing whatsoever to recomend about this town, unless you are involved in criminal activity THEN its the place for you! Seriously, I am familliar with the Smoketree area and its very nice and quiet. I think it would be your best bet.

elec. bill currently i live in a 3 bed 2bath home with NO swamp cooler my bill runs around 300 a month during the hotter summer month and thats all AC i try to keep the lights off as much as i can Good luck on your move!

Again, thanks so much for the great info, guys. I had my wife look over that info about the ratio and stuff on the hospital floors. I think she will probably end up doing a traveling contract, just because we could use the extra money for housing. If she ends up going with Talmed I'll make sure I contact you and let you know so your wife can get a bonus or whatever. The only thing was when she looked at their web site the only opening they had in the valley was in Indio, which I'm sure she wouldn't want to take. Hopefully something opens up at the other hospitals in the area.
Thanks so much for the info on living areas...we will be out there in 3 weeks and check out the smoketree area.
Please feel free to leave any other info you think applicable. I'll check back on this site frequently.

Thanks again for everybody's help!

AJ

Not to beat a dead horse to death, but I ran across this little ditty in our local paper this morning. Not only is it not safe to actually LIVE in DHS, it's not safe to NOT live there!!!
