Default Need school info in Victorville area!

Hi,We are thinking of moving back to Southern Ca. within 3-6 mos. We live

now in Texas but we are originally from the Inland Empire San

Brdno. We miss our family and friends so much but the only place we can

afford to move back to would be the Victorville area. We have children and

would like to find out which public schools are better. Any information

regarding the schools & better areas will help & be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!

Thanks for the reply, at this moment we are not sure what area we'll be moving to, we have a list of homes we will like to look at but we are not familiar with the area, only been there a couple of times. We don't know if we should go to Victorville, Apple valley or Hesperia, the schools are a major factor affectingin our decision, for we have children and so far they're doing great in school.

Jasmine31, I'm happy to hear that you think Victorville schools are better than San Bernardino, it makes me feel more at ease because while in San Bernardino my children attended the Rialto School district and it wasn't so bad so if Victorville is better I'm glad! Could you specify a little more on how you feel the district of Victorville is better. And is there an area in Victorville that you would recommend more than other? Thanks!

I've been living in Victorville for 21 years , with 1 child through and 1 child in the school system . The Snowline School District in Phelan has the best schools in the valley. Go to GreatSchools.com they give the best advice on schools. My youngest goes to Hollyvale Elem. in the Hesperia school district even though we live in Victorville. School boundaries are different than city boundaries.Hollyvale is a great elem. however Hesperia Jr. and Hesperia High are horrible, My oldest went to these schools from 1990-1996 and there were problems then and now she says they have gotten very bad , so for my youngest it just might be private school.

This is the area we are buying in...very safe and zoned Hesperia schools. I know that for junior/senior HS Hesperia isn't that great, but for the lower grades the schools are pretty decent from what I've read and heard. My high schooler will probably go to a charter and community college, which is what we are doing now.

If you buy a home that is west of 395 you will be zoned for Snowline, which is the best district in the area. A good realtor will know these things and be able to help, but always double check by calling schools with potential addresses.

VV is the only place we can afford to buy too, good luck!

Default Victorville Schools

Please check the schools in the area(s) you are considering on great schools com. Compare them to schools "down the hill" i.e. Rancho Cucamonga, Upland and even Fontana. There is a magnet school in the Victor Valley School district that accepts high achievers, but I believe there is a wating list. As far a CA schools go, the Victorville schools rank as some of the lowest achieving especially at the Jr. High and High School levels. If you have a relative in another district, perhaps you can use thier address to get the kids into a better school. There are also some better prices now in areas that you might not think you could have afforded previously. Good Luck!
