Sinaloa, You appear to be in the same situation we're in, trying to go back to California with family and friends. We also reside in Texas and have children of school age. I wish you the best in finding an area to move into! I can't give you advise because I'm seeking the same myself, we're trying to find out what area in Victorville is better as far as schools. We want to move there because prices are much more affordable there than they are in the area we were before we moved to Texas!

Let's start out with jobs, needs ("I have to have it"), and desires ("it would be nice to have"). Your question is very general. If you would add a few more specifics, there are plenty of us that would be happy to share our thoughts. Let us help

Want to go back to California
I will tell you a little bit more about my situation, We really wish to move to sSan Diego County ( well my husband likes) before we moved to Texas we lived in Los Angeles area and we don't wish to go back to big city, after living in a small towwn in Texas fro 3 years I don't think we would be happy, Job wise its kind of a weird situation because we own a 44unit apartment complex here in Texas and basically my husband is the maintenance man and I am the manager, We have to keep the apartments for at least another 2 years so we would be living with the same salaries that we pay each other from the apartments, and we would have to leave someone in charge and I or my husband will have to travel back every month or so. The biggest thing that makes we want to come back is that my father is just diagnosed with cancer and it is very aggressive, we don't know how much more he has. My father lives in Romoland wich around that area, But we deffinetly don't like Romoland.
Thank you for your interest!!!!

Yea, I would suggest Fallbrook. Close to SD(which is apparently what you want?). Problem is it's fairly expensive.
Temecula might work too? Poway, etc down the 15

I agree with Temecula-great good schools, but pricey! Murrieta-schools good and pricey too! San Diego not too far down the 15 corridor. In all - California is Pricey in everything now these days....Wish you the best in your journey

A lot of people are coming (back) to Calif, Im another one. After living in Az for about 12 years. In fact, a few people I work with here in the high desert, AND surprisingly, quite a few customers I talk to as well, have either come back or have relocated for one reason or other, from places like Az, N M, and even one from Michegan. Not that there arent still people moving out, but many are moving back, as well.
Remember though, that no matter where you choose to live, if possible, try to have a job lined up FIRST, or at least a potential hopeful, and have a backup plan, just in case. Thats the most important factor.
PS: Whats wrong with Texas? I wouldnt mind living in a small town out there.

There's nothing wrong with Texas in fact its beautiful, specially he little town where I live, But We just can't get used to it plus we have made friends but we miss our family and friends and I want to spend more time with my dad since he has cancer, We thought maybe some friends and family would eventually move out to Texas but it didn't happen, evethough houses are a lot cheaper there are a lot of jobs and iir quality is really good.

We also moved to Texas HAPPY about the prices on new homes, but we didn't quite believe what other people had mentioned to us about how HIGH are property TAXES there!! Now we know, in the area we're in, an owner of a 200,000 home pays about 5,000 on Property Taxes!! Yes, the air is cleaner but we just don't think is worth it!! It's probablly a nice place to retire but when you have children, they just get bored, not too much to do either... But to each is their own what might be nice to one, might not be to another!
