I dont see it getting better. Especially since houses are a little more affordable. People who werent able to buy a house in Redlands now have better chances. My buddy got his car stolen about 2 weeks ago. They found it stripped to the frame.

Like I said, I live in Highland and have seen this city deteriorate. It became clear when a store by the name of "Couch Potato" made headlines. This store was one of those places where everyone knew eachother. The owner trusted everyone and gave credit when needed because he was kind hearted. The owner Steve, and another employee by the name of Brian were gunned down one night after a robbery. The robbers asked for some money, and lottery tickets. Everyone complied and gave into the robberies demands. As they were running out, shots rang out, and the cold blooded killers ran. Eventually, they ended up getting caught due to the widespread news of our beloved community.

Now this is now to say that this single incident applies to the whole city and gives it a bad name, but I just named one that came to mind. Never in my life time would I have thought this would have happen to these people. But it happens, and thats reality.

Stuff like this happens so much, I sometimes cant recall when and where it happens. When these type of incidents happen so repeatedly, you become immune. To me, its like another walk in the park. I take the same route everyday, I see the same tree scribed with initials and a heart. I walk pass the same basketball courts without netting, Heck, the wall I walked by yesterday has the same graffiti it did a month ago. Catch my drift.

If I could afford it, I would like to move into Redlands. There are great areas sprinkled throughout every city just as there are bad ones. If you were to ask me, whats so good about Redlands? I couldnt tell you right off the bat. I have to sit and think. Where do you plan on moving to?
I used to live in Rialto. But now i live in redlands. Lived here 3 years and people are always saying what a great area it is to live in. Or how its such a safe place but i have noticed things just getting worse and worse. Still not as bad as other inland cities but eventually maybe.

This is my question. I posted this thread cause its a shock that this middle upper-class town is going slowly downhill. Even though redlands kept its reputation of the beautiful-safe area of san bernardino county.

It's a slow growth community that increases every year the amount of college grads that moves in it with an increasing amount of homes that are worth a million plus...no it won't go down hill. Are there many million dollar homes in the ghetto? No.

Plus, downtown Redlands is filled more with college students and upper-middle class high school students at night (trust me, I party in Redlands when back at home...also when I was in high school we would see shows in downtown). It's fine, Redlands is not going downhill.
