Default Will redlands stay a safe city?

I have noticed downtown redlands becoming kinda "ghetto". Has anyone else noticed this? Do you think it will ever become like its surrounding cities of highland or san bernardino?

I don't know what 'ghetto' as you call it means. Please elaborate.

No, I live in Highland. I seen Redlands transform. The orange groves are disappearing, businesses are moving in, more people are populating, trash and traffic is on every street. Give it a little more time. You'll see.

Half empty or half full. I think it is just a matter of what your use to. I grew up in Los Angeles, I think I can move just about anywhere and not have culture shock. Excluding Detoit, Chicago, and New York because they seem to run neck and neck with Los Angeles.

I dont see it getting better. Especially since houses are a little more affordable. People who werent able to buy a house in Redlands now have better chances. My buddy got his car stolen about 2 weeks ago. They found it stripped to the frame.

Like I said, I live in Highland and have seen this city deteriorate. It became clear when a store by the name of "Couch Potato" made headlines. This store was one of those places where everyone knew eachother. The owner trusted everyone and gave credit when needed because he was kind hearted. The owner Steve, and another employee by the name of Brian were gunned down one night after a robbery. The robbers asked for some money, and lottery tickets. Everyone complied and gave into the robberies demands. As they were running out, shots rang out, and the cold blooded killers ran. Eventually, they ended up getting caught due to the widespread news of our beloved community.

Now this is now to say that this single incident applies to the whole city and gives it a bad name, but I just named one that came to mind. Never in my life time would I have thought this would have happen to these people. But it happens, and thats reality.

Stuff like this happens so much, I sometimes cant recall when and where it happens. When these type of incidents happen so repeatedly, you become immune. To me, its like another walk in the park. I take the same route everyday, I see the same tree scribed with initials and a heart. I walk pass the same basketball courts without netting, Heck, the wall I walked by yesterday has the same graffiti it did a month ago. Catch my drift.

If I could afford it, I would like to move into Redlands. There are great areas sprinkled throughout every city just as there are bad ones. If you were to ask me, whats so good about Redlands? I couldnt tell you right off the bat. I have to sit and think. Where do you plan on moving to?
