Hello!

My wife and are looking at property in Lake Arrowhead Woods. I’m trying to detail out our monthly budget as best I can, but would like to know an average range of utility costs for similar homes in the area. The latest numbers I’ve found were from nearly 20 years ago!
I totally understand that everyone’s costs will fluctuate on individual usage, but if I got some ballpark numbers from a few folks it would really give me a better idea.

We are thinking a 3 bed / 2 bath home in Lake Arrowhead Woods. Approximately 1500 sq feet (give or take). So far everything we are looking at is both city water as well as on the sewer system.

I’m trying to budget for two people:

Water (both usage and waste)
Electricity
Gas (summer and winter numbers)
Trash service

Is there anything else I’m missing? I’ve never lived in the mountains before so If there’s an additional utility type expense im all ears!

Thank you SO much for your help!!! Hopefully we’ll be seeing you up at the lake later this summer.

Britt

Here are our average utility costs for the past year:

All water, trash, road maintenance, and snow plowing: $245/quarter with our mutual services company
Electricity: $60/month
Gas (winter): $145/month
Gas (summer): $30/month
Internet: $75/month
PO Box (for the second largest box size available): $150/year

This is for two people living in a 4 bed/3 bath home in the Villas, where costs might be slightly different than other locations in the area. If you plan on living here full time then you'll have to get a PO box as mail cannot be delivered to residences on the mountain.

Feel free to ask any other questions!
