Lake Arrowhead or Corona thinking about
Hello all. I am wondering if anyone knows if there are landlords who will rent monthly, without doing a credit check in either Lake Arrowhead area, or Corona area. We may have to give up our home since it is now worth $30,000 less than what we owe in FL and it cannot sell. We want to move back to CA, and with the adjustment interest rate, we may not want to keep our home at this point, and start fresh. Any thoughts? We have great 3 kids and 2 dogs, and are a good family. But because of us owning, our credit/reference may be ruined. My husband is an IT MAnager, so we can afford about $1500 per month. We pay much more now. I also do not want to get a UHaul, my husband switch jobs etc, and not find anything out there. And we would like a nice, safe neighborhood as well.

sorry but most landlords I've dealt with do credit checks. I would actually be worried if the landlord doesn't do it.

I am a Landlord and I require a credit check. Sorry. It's just to save my butt in case something happens. If a prospective tenant doesn't supply their credit report, I don't rent to them.
Lake Arrowhead is expensive, plus there isn't a lot going on there. It's more of a vacation type of a place. We have a cabin up there that we use for vacation time. There are a lot of rentals for that reason....
Corona is more of a town to raise a family in.... allthough we do have some dear friends that live in the Crestline area with their 2 girls and they LOVE it... It's just that they have to go down the mountain to go to work, or do major shopping. The market near them is a little pricey but that's because it's a mountain community.
Good luck.

Landlords-Lake Arrowhead, Corona
Yes there are landlords that don't do credit checks. It is a full-time job to find them. You also want to drive around in the communities for rent signs as not all of them will advertise in a newspaper. I have been in your situation and was just truthfull upfront about the circumstances. It took me 4 months to find the right place with the right owner.
Note- Lake Arrowhead is a mountain community and very expensive to live in. If you want a mountain community more affordable try Twin Peaks, Crestline, or Running Springs.
Note- Corona is more affordable because it is a very undesireable place to live. I have a friend who bought a house there 6 years ago, lots of crime and run down housing.

Yes I have driven through part of the barrio of Corona so I wouldn't be surprised.
Does Corona have new housing developments in the area?! It seems to be a large city area wise. It seems like investors would have built up the area near there. I know Temescal Canyon is getting built up. There has to be newer areas of the city, right?!

Finding a place in Lake Arrowhead "Area" for that price is doable. Finding a landlord who will not do a credit check is dreaming. Explain your situation to landlords and one of them might accomodate you, but do not hide your credit problems. Be upfront.
