Default Independent health & car insurance

I currently have independent plans.. health care just went up to $97 a month, and my car insurance is based out of Illinois. I'm looking for a good, dependable company that's independent (I don't want health insurance from wherever I work)?

I've looked into Blue Cross/Blue Shield.. and I don't even know where to start with car insurance.

Any help would be great!

Stacy

I use Geico for auto insurance. Rates are great, but really depend on your driving record and age. They also offer discounts if you are a member of a particular professional organization or large group so you can ask them about that too.
