This may have already been said but some of these should be loaded on Google Earth. Great job.

Default Thank you Chuck

Chuck, thank you for all the beautiful pictures. We Moved from California a little over a year ago and we really miss it. We are in the process of trying to transfer back. These pictures are great. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Those of us that are displaced enjoy looking at these until we can get back.

I have been away from Southern California for many many years and don't know the status of watering or watering bans.

Thanks.
Yes, even during summer our area is still green.

Would it be okay if (when I get my act together - need to figure out HOW to post pics) I posted pics of the Coachella Valley? We're so close to the IE (I drive into the IE almost every day) that it seems like we may need some pics of my area.

In most definitions, some would say the Coachella Valley is part of the IE... but even if not so, of course your welcome to post pics!

The Coachella Valley is a beautiful place and I would think a lot of people would like to see pictures of the area. The date and citrus farms, the golf course oasis, mountains, hot springs, joshua tree, living desert, Salton sea ... man, the memories...

take care!

Here's a pic of the Salton Sea with the Santa Rosa Mts in the background.

Can't seem to figure out how to put it in the body of the post, sorry.

Thanks for the photo. We used to go there back in the early '60's.

If anyone has any old photo's taken there I would love to see them. I don't really remember much about that area. We got an old parachute type thing to put up for a cover from the sun. One weekend the temp's were so high that we would go into the water to cool off - but the water was like bath water - so then we would have to get out to let the wind cool us off. Then 5 minutes later back in...We all got horrible sun burns and had to go home early. There were dead fish floating everywhere and we couldn't keep our dog from rolling in them. There were other weekends that were great tho.

One weekend someone jumped their boat out of the water and it flipped. I don't remember all the details or if anyone got hurt. Since we were kids then, we thought all the partying was pretty cool.

These race issues are always going on in Southern CA. This never tend to happen in the the East Coast, or Bay Area. They need to quit that s***, and get it together. It's 2009..Southern CA has no excuses for that.
