Smile Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree area

Does anybody know what the economy is like in the Yucca Valley area?

I am an automotive alignment technician by trade and is there much call for that sort of work?

BTW: the 'heat' part does not scare me-------I live in the Phx (Az) area.

Side question: does that area still have a major problem with Meth users? I heard rumors in the past.

Great question and I hope someone will answer. Just drove through there, and it's 30 miles from Palm Springs. So perhaps one could buy 5 acres for $10,000, buy a trailer, and have a long commute to a job in Palm Springs. There are homes for sale in the Real Estate publications for $100,000+.

They have no economy up there. Always opertunity for qualified automotive techs. The temps in the summer are about 10-15 degrees less than Palm Springs and it gets cold in the winter. Yes still lots of Meth up there. Land is cheap up there but you get what you pay for.
