Default Thinking of buying a house in Riverside

Hi everyone,

I live in Downey, CA and I'm thinking of buying a house in Riverside since homes are less expensive there. I want a safe neighborhood. I would appreciate if anyone knows a nice area to live in Riverside.

At first I was going to buy one in Perris because of the affordable home prices, but I heard it has a lot of crime so I decided to go for Riverside.

I've been looking on the zip codes 92505 and 92503, are they safe? I do not want to spent more than $200,000.

I would really appreciate your advise.

Both of those areas are fine, 92505 is might put you near La Sierra University, and what kind of home are you looking for, how many bd and bth,

Perris is definitely kind of scary sometimes, there is a lot of low income housing out that way, so good choice in staying clear of that area.

Riverside is cheaper than Downey, but 200K won't get you much more than a condo or little old home. Riverside city is around 2/3 the price of Orange County. Is that all you're looking for? What about your employment situation? Do you need to be near any place in particular.

I live in 92505 in the Riverwalk community, right across La Sierra University. The actual Riverwalk community is pretty nice, but the area gets sort of ghetto as you move east of there. Also, there are a lot of foreclosures in the Rivewalk community, so maybe a $200,000 home price here is coming soon!
