Default Moving to Loma Linda-Redlands area. Where to live? Where not to live?

I'll be moving out to the Loma Linda area and it looks like Redlands is a nice place to live. Any suggestions on other places to look and places to stay away from? Any dog friendly places? And is there any place that's actually affordable?

There are some nice areas right around the university, but I would look in Kimberly Crest area. Keep in mind the area has real poor air quality...some days you'll be breathing brown air...and hot...

Personally I'd suggest going up the 215 to the area around Cal State San Bernardino (off University). Some nice neighborhoods up there.

By the university in Loma Linda is nicer than by the university in San Bernardino. There are plenty of nice, older homes on the south side of Redlands and some newer ones on the north.

I would defenitley consider Yucaipa. It is only 12 minutes away from Loma Linda. It's a beautiful little town backed up to the mountains that has the ambience of a small town and all the amenities of a large city. I have lived here for 12 years but my job is relocating me to San Antonio.
If your looking to buy a home I have a BEAUTIFUL 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 3 car garage that would be perfect for you!

Thanks for the information everyone.

I'll be coming from Central Florida so the summer heat won't be a problem, the air quality has me a little concerned. Is Yucaipa any cheaper than Redlands? I'll be looking to rent an apartment or a small house.
