Cool Grand Terrace?

Hello,
I am moving to the IE for a job in San Bernardino. From what I heard, I will avoid living in SB. People have recommended Redlands but it seems far from everything. I was wondering about Grand Terrace? Where are some of the safer neighborhoods in Grand Terrace and would you recommend Grand Terrace?

Grand Terrace has such a small area, that you can't really narrow it down to any more "neighbourhoods" within. It's pretty much just considered the south part of San Bernardino or the north part of Riverside.

Loma Linda's commercial areas aren't as nice as Redlands, but its residential areas are, and it's closer to San Bernardino than Redlands.

Red face Relocating for School

I will be moving to IE with my toddler son. I am looking for a safe community with good, quality childcare. Redlands and Grand Terrace have been suggested as well as Rancho Cucamonga. I am not sure of the distance or traffic conditions from Rancho Cucamonga to Loma Linda. I am also concerned about the air quality. Can somebody please enlighten me and give whatever suggestions/feedback possible?

Thank you very much!!

I would recommend Grand Terrace. Generally the whole area is safe, even the apartments. I delivered pizza for years there and never felt insecure. There are a few areas to avoid area between the train tracks and la cadena dr. Redland has some very nice communities but I am not too familar. Loma linda is a safe location as well. You do have to consider that these areas are suround but high crime areas.

The only way to excape the poor air quality would be high elevation Big bear, the high desert, palm springs or the coast all of which is atleast 30 min from San Bernardino. Palm springs is the closest. San Bernardino has the worldest worst air quality.

Grand Terrace keeps you in a safe area, but the google map I'm reading doesn't indicate boundaries of town. I would stay to the East of the 215. Reche Canyon is in Colton and that's a good area if you can get a place. From the 215 and prior to Reche Canyon, just across from the Stater Bros on Washington/Barton is OK too. I wish you well in your search.

I, too need to move to the Inland Empire, because my husband has taken a job there. I haven't had time to investigate, but my husband says Grand Terrace looks like a good area. So glad to
hear about it. Please pass on any further info. Thanks.

Ok first of all you are right san bernardino is kind of bad how ever every city has bad parts and i think people get that mixed up. San Bernardino is where i live now and i moved from Grand Terrace. I loooooved Grand terrace i mean it seems more like a neighborhood than a city because of the size and it is a little more San Bernardino. I live in san bernardino in a nice are... by the University, Shandin Hills is also another great area in San Bernardino there are a lot of really nice places here but you have to pay for them. Everything in grand terrace closes super early but the good thing is Colton is right down the Hill.... now Colton is ghetto so i mean there are great places to live all over you just have to know where to look. every city has a ghetto.

And Reche Canyon has houses that are primarily built by people who own ranches, i doubt you find a place to live there unless some one is selling Land as well. Redlands is a great area but if you are looking to rent then it is probably not..... i have lived here my whole life.
