Default Downtown Riverside Vintage Homes 92501

I am currently looking at vintage homes in the 92501 area, near Mt. Rubidoux, Mission Inn, Fairmount Park, etc. Does anyone have any personal knowledge of the demographics, crime, etc.? From driving around it looks like a "mixed" area and the neighborhoods seem quiet, at least during the daytime.

I personally live in the downtown Historical district..I have for the past 13yrs...Most of the downtown area is good but it's history has been up and down for many of those years. I personally live on a street that has neighbors that have lived there for the better part of 30+ years. Riverside is really been "taking the trash out" so to speak in the downtown area. The revitilized areas near the Mission Inn and the convention center are really being cleaned up and crime is down. I have never had a problem living in the downtown area and really prefer it. Fairmont Park has a lot of work still yet to be done to make it a really good park and the area around Fairmont Park is nice but has a few places that you wish you could move away.

Anyway hope that helps..

Thanks so much for your reply! It's good to hear from an actual resident of the area. We will (hopefully, if our house sells) be moving from Norco to the downtown area in the near future. I love the historical homes and the prices are right. My current "dream house" is at 4555 Mission Inn Ave., a huge Craftsman with pool. It's a bank-owned property and will probably be gone by the time our current home sells. Oh well, there will be others.

don't worry many places are at a stand still right now so you still might be in luck!
