Hi guys,
Driving down Limonite in Mira Loma, my wife and I noticed this huge white building sitting on the hills in Norco. I found out later researching online that it's the Norconian Hotel. I've found out that it's a historical site, and that it used to be some sort of resort for movie stars and celebrities in the 1930s.

From a picture of it, it looks pretty awesome. I think it's now a re-habitation center ran by the department of corrections. Are there tours or anything like that going on there? Last I heard residents of Norco wanted to restore it or something...

Here's a pic from a search on google:

Are there any other "interesting"/historical tidbits in the IE that would be a nice weekend/day trip to go to?

Thanks!

Check out the Mission Inn in Riverside if you like old hotels - this one dating back to the late 1800's. Mission Inn Hotel - Riverside California (http://www.missioninn.com/hotel-museum.htm - broken link)

Wow, that's neat... thanks!... it's pretty amazing what you can find out here. Anything else I want to find a real gem... like the gems people have been posting about local places to eat.
