Default Moreno Valley &surrounding areas

So I will be moving in with my grandma who is buying a house in Moreno Valley. I just want to know basic information about the place, and the surrounding areas. I've never been so try to keep that in mind. I'm also nineteen years old. What kind of things to do are out there, what is the city college like, how far away are any beaches, shopping malls, night clubs, etc.
I work at target and bath and body works right now, and would be putting in a transfer to moreno valley. I would appreciate any advice I have heard some negative things about moreno valley but would appreciate any positive things you can tell me? as well as areas to stay away from and such.
Thanks!

19 yrs old is kind of tough.
You'll probably want to work at a restaurant to meet more people in college. Hospitality Lane in San Bernardino is probably the best area for that.
Try to attend the Riverside campus of RCC - it has more people from different walks of life.
Malls are less than 20 mins. away in many directions.
Beaches, mountains, Palm Springs, and L.A. can be from 45mins. - 2hrs. away (depending on traffic).
The I.E. is okay. You can find any demographic.

Moreno Valley is not a bad place to live.

There is an RCC campus in south MoVal near Lake Perris. I have attended classes there and liked the campus and staff.

There is plenty of retail and food service establishments in MoVal as well as surrounding cities that probably offer flexible hours for students.

I'm not familiar with the night life, but both Riverside and Redlands have universities and corresponding night-life spots that seem pretty busy and look like fun. You could go to University Village in Riverside or Downtown Redlands on a weekend and find some age appropriate peer groups and figure out where the hot spots are.

If you enjoy driving, there are plenty of scenic destinations to occupy an afternoon that will land you either at the beach or in the mountains, and the trip is half the fun.

Just get to know some people and I'm confident you'll like it here.

Thanks so much that helps
Does anyone what the closest beach is called, and how far away it is?
And what malls are there?

Also how away is rancho cucamonga? I have friends there that I would be visiting a lot

Just moved from Moval.. lots of shopping on either end of the city, the mall in Riverside (Galleria at Tyler) was a fun hang out for my (19 yo) nephew Marine. He also liked going to the movies at the Moreno Valley mall, very nice theatre.

Ontario Mills , not too bad of a drive .. tons of stores, places to eat and a theater. The mall has a Dave and Buster's, Gameworks, Comedy Club, Hot topic, Lucky brand jeans, and a huge Virgin megastore.

MV has a new Super Target , the regular Target is actually in Riverside for the address. They were in the middle of a redesign of the BBW store at the MV mall when we left in June.

Bowling alley was fun, it was free on New Year's Day which was a good idea to drum up business... good freebie for families and teens

Riverside looked busy around the college and lots of places to hang out there. If we had the option to move back.. we would likely move to Riverside, MV was a little too ho hum quiet for my family... we were bored.

Driving: 45 minutes to Disneyland, an hour to Newport Beach, almost two hours to San Diego.

Another good idea for a job is Winco, they give employees stock in the company I miss shopping there: good prices, clean store, friendly people.

Good luck!
