Default Southern California Gas Company

I received my rent statement a few days ago & i noticed the daily rate has increased.I contacted the gas co & they told me to talk to my mgr rather then giving me the answer themselves.I honestly DESPISE utility companies.Anyways...the rate is 31 Days @ 0.164380.I am on the low income rate.I only used 1 therm @ 1.130521.The cpu inspection charge is 0.21 (ripoff).NOW.....if you're on the reduced rate plan how much is your daily rate ? Mine is roughly 16.5 cents per day.I live in the Inland Empire.

Funny you should post - we recently moved and I was comparing rates and differences.

I am in the SFV.

For So Cal Gas
- Standard rate / not low income
- my daily rate is same as yours @ .164380 per day
- Used 9 therms
- 5 therms @ Baseline rate / .97000
- 4 therms @ over baseline rate / 1.15250

Plus taxes...

For comparison, here is what we're paying on power:

Burbank Water and Power = .10304 per kWh.
LA DWP = .11897 per kWh.

Burbank offers a "green power" program that is an additional premium with a guaranteed mix of green power - you opt in and buy up a percent increase based on the mix of green power. We're going to settle in and take a look at the budget, then consider that change...

I just spoke to a gas co rep.The standard rate per day regardless if you're low income or not is 16.5 cents per day.Thats $4.95 mo per houshold.I rarely use gas yet i have to give the so.ca.gas company my hard earned money every month.Like i said......I DESPISE utility companies ( & politicians).
