Default Commute from Preserve in chino to irvine

Hi guys,
How do you think the commute would be to work in Irvine from the Preserve in Chino? I was thinking of taking 1 toll and then going through the canyon to get to work which usually isnt congested. i dont mind a 30-40 minute commute, but anything beyond that would be overwhelming. let me know your thoughts. please...be candid!
thanks!

I did that commute for 2 years.

While it's slightly better than Corona or the east IE, the majority of days will be ugly.

30-45 mintues, no. Perhaps on the way there (depending on the location in Irvine and the expected arrival time / departure time), you can make it in 45 minutes on a good day. Coming home will be 1 - 1.5 hours consistently, regardless of route. Toll road locks up at 91, and Carbon Canyon is much like a line of ants at a picnic.

My advice is to spend a few nights there during a regular week (school in session, no holidays) and try it out for yourself. A few hundred bucks could save you thousands in a costly mistake.

Of course, you can always get one of the many jobs in the IE touted by some on this board (present company excluded).

Good luck.

I commuted from the Soquel Canyon/Central exit to Irvine for 4 months. It consistently took me 30 minutes to work, and 35-40 minutes to get home (unless there was an accident on the way home, once a week or so). I worked near the spectrum and took the 241/133. I left at 7AM and left work at 530PM. If I ever left for work late (730 AM), it took quite a bit longer (45 minutes).
