Kids are just dumb. It's not your Zip code, or your school, it's what you make of your life!

You might get better answers over in the House Forum

Construction costs depend on the site. (Age of and condition of original house, space for building or going 2 stories, etc.) I wouldn't even know where to begin to guess at something like this.

I just caught this thread, but here are some of my thoughts: Riverside has some of the most beautiful urban parks of any city in Southern CA. Fairmont Park and its lake are very popular with families, and it is close to downtown and and some older, attractive neighborhoods that date to the 1800s. Mt. Rubidoux Park is like a mini Griffith Park, and popular for a casual walk, or run... the view at the top is spectacular, especially in the winter.
Riverside, in my opinion, is one of the most attractive mid-size cities in Southern California. A great place to raise a family.

they are probably referring to Riverside County
ALMOST every county in So. Cal has pockets of less than delectable neighborhoods. most gangs are just taggers, iMo. i grew up in the F13 'hood & never heard of any crime (i was a kid - no one at home talked about a lack of safety - their admonition was to be normally cautious) there ('70's) but the evidence of their presence was a pervasive drag.
i perceive Riverside county as commuterville. you definitely, imo, want to move up the ladder, use it as a starting point. it's getting more crowded/polluted all the time.
(lived throughout SB/R/LA counties nearly all my life) kate
btw peeps: the OP hasn't been on the boards since 02/09

you need to find out the cost per square foot: you can call contractors & ask for estimates on the phone, based on square footage.

Does anyone have an opinion about Grand Terrace? I've been reading a alot about Corona and Chino Hills being nice but I go to UCR and hope to not have to travel too far everyday. I currently live near downtown Riverside but I'm currently renting and hope to own a home, a house in particular. Thank you.
