Orangecrest 92508, I love it. Great schools, clean and quite. Check out homes in Mission Hills area of Orangecrest. Unfortunatly we are moving because my husband relocate for business reasons. I am just heartbroken.

So, why do I keep reading posts about Riverside being a gang infested, crime ridden slum that has few parks and out-of-doors venues? Is this inaccurate, or are people just overly grim?

I grew up in Canyon Crest and went to Poly High school. Very affluent, preppy school. I loved it there. I also recommend Orange Crest as well.

Good information on Riverside
Thanks....This is good information. It seems that folks out in the City of Riverside and then in OC can be pessimistic about living in Southern California. I've read mostly negative on these threads.

I would check out Corona, Chino, Chino Hills, & Temecula. Housing prices have dropped considerably (still more than Riverside) and the schools are much better than Riverside. If those are out of your budget, check out Beaumont: lots of new master planned communities, new schools, and low housing costs. Lake Elsinore has some beautiful gated master planned communities as well, but I don't think the schools have quite caught up and there is a significant meth problem outside of the gated communities. Hope this helps.

It kind of all depends on which neighborhood feel you want. If you want a more historic feel, the Wood Streets are nice as well as the area near Mount Rubidoux (off Mission Inn not too far from Downtown). If you want a more 1960s 1970s "traditional" California feel (older ranch style homes) Canyon Crest has a lot to offer. Orange Crest, Mission Grove, Victoria Grove are nice new suburban communities. Hawarden Hills, Arlington Heights, Victoria, Lake Hills Reserve, and parts of Canyon Crest are where the most affluent people of Riverside live. Most of Riverside is very middle class with older tract homes. Contrary to popular belief, it's really not that bad.

I was just wondering, are there any places to learn to dance in Riverside? Anyone?
