HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL
Stuff and Things…Abso-Skippen-lutely, Great post, it will help others understand the Mtn better.
Lookingfortheperfetplace…Great info for those who simply don’t know, it is much better and no where near the crowds around 40th street and on.
Mtn. Mama…I didn’t know there was any other way to learn the weather forecast, other than the local crafts store/hardware store or post office ha!! I swear, I just couldn’t have said that better, my gosh how that makes me miss the mtns even more now. And as far as the flatlanders, they can race on by but the unfortunate chances are you might pass them later crawling out of their rolled vehicle.
Mtnchick…It is well worth it! You can only say that unless you’ve lived it right!!
VeraDeMilo…Your heart never leaves that mountain, I understand how you feel.
Mullenvj… You just made a new best friend!! Your post was perfect and in closing what you said, took the words right out of my mouth. If you decide to move here, I'm sure you'll never look back. Unfortunately I had to move, and my heart has always yearned for the mountain. I could almost compare that feeling to having to sell my 66 mustang. Leaving The Mountain hurt worse!!
Hubby needs a positive push…Help!!!
How can I put this in simple words? My heart has never left the mountain, it just yearns to be there, especially at “this” time, it just makes it so dang hard. I’m in the stages of looking and explaining life in the mountains. I’ve been on the MRMLS (Home Listings) looking and showing the hubby what mtn living has to offer. It’s foreign to him not to see a three car garage, a yard for our (four legged) babies and a level lot! The idea of the commute to Riverside/Moreno Valley areas worry him, he has a lot to think about!? The fears of heavy fog and deep snow worry him. We’ve talked about vehicles, We have a Honda Pilot that he seems to be comfortable with, he said it can be put into FWD, my personal preference would be to sell our second car and get a Subaru.
I have read all your post and it just warms my heart as I know, these posts are from what could only be “Mountain People”, Such a close nit crew, so proud and so simple, and always so willing to help, where do you find those qualities anymore?
I am asking for your help as a former “Mountain resident”. ANY help you might offer the hubby, any tips that might help with this decision to move (me back) to the Mountain. He’s lived in snow before (Mississippi/Spain/Korea) but I’m not sure how different it may have been?
Thank you all for sharing, and for any suggestions that might make this a reality for me again, and an opportunity for my hubby to see what it’s really like, and maybe (Just Maybe) his heart might smile half as much as mine did in the 70’s and 80’s.
