I do ballroom in Riverside. There's a huge ballroom community in the IE. I can't say I've personally heard too many country western songs being played at any of the dances I've attended, and they NEVER play country at the 2 studios I train at!

Riverside is not a suburb of Los Angeles. Yes, some folks commute to L.A., but it stands on its own in all respects except local TV. Most of the city seems suburban, but that's more a reflection of its housing stock than its connection to an urban center.

I haven't noticed any significant difference between people in LA versus Riverside. And I have no idea why one of the posters mentioned country music and nascar. I have lived here (Riverside) a long time and have never met or know anyone who watches nascar, but maybe I just unusual. Riverside has it's advantages like less traffic and less crime, or at least it seems that way. It also is slightly hotter, but it is a good kind of hot. LA seems to be overcast a lot, which Riverside rarely is. Hope this helps!

Uhm exccccuse me, what's so bad about nascar and country music?

Country music is pretty good if you give it a listen.

at least you can understand the music.

and the lyrics are good

I Find the Commute in Riverside Very bareable,Its not that bad The Freeway gets a little Congested and opens up.The I.E. needs to make more freeways or add more lanes they have the chance to add more lanes,And the Area is growing Very fast.So Don't be like LA were we can't keep up the with the Population,The I.E. can It's there chance now,To Put at least up to 7 lanes on each side of the freeway,Dont wait for stores to open on the side of the freeways,b/c then they can;t expand the Lanes.

Having lived in MV for years before moving...The only time the IE got stupid about NASCAR was when all the out of towners came in for the races.

To say the IE'rs are a bunch of backwood, beerdrinking, gangbanging ingrates is to say OC is full of plastic, fake blonde, out of work mtg brokers...oh wait... that latter is true...

I will move back to MV when my husbands contract is up here... I dig my hood and the people there.
