San Jacinto and the Scientology Gold Studios (Riverside, Moreno Valley: house, gated)

What social influence does the home base of Scientology located on Soboba Road have on the town of San Jacinto. I understand that the compound is also the living quarters for members, but do many live outside of this gated fortress and in the town of San Jacinto?

If so, to what extent is the percentage of its populace Scientologists and what influence does this have on the environment of the town socially and economically, and also its future? Does its reputation stop many people from considering the town as a place to live?

I don't know about anyone else, but when I lived in the area, unless you drove by it to remind you that it's there, it wasn't even thought of at all. There are quite a few people who live in the area that still don't know what it is or that it even exists.

I believe it's called Golden Era Productions. I don't think they exert a lot of influence over the area. They pretty much keep to themselves. They do, however, have a lookout on top of the hill so they can take down license plate numbers of cars that linger too long near their studios.

I was wondering the same thing about the inlfuence on the community ... My husband and I just bought a house in San Jacinto and I had no idea what Gold Base was until I happend to drive by on my way to Riverside and it sticks out like a sore thumb! I came home and googled it ( gotta love google) and WOW I can't stop reading the stories I knew what Dianetics was but sheesh I had no clue about any of the inside world! the base is beautiful it looks like a resort I often drive by it to get my fussy toddler to sleep, when she sees the castle she says " look Disneyland" and I think .... not quite From what I have read it sounds to me like most live on base and if there are any living around town they are probably too busy to bug us " wogs", I drove by today on my way home from Moreno Valley and they are doing all kinds of work out there almost looks like they are expanding? Does anyone know what they are planning to build ? aren't they in recession with the rest of California?
