Also I haven't heard of anything about a Metro Link.
At this time, it looks like Metrolink is planning to expand to serve Redlands, but the station farthest east looks to be in the University of Redlands area:

There is still right-of-way and tracks to support the expansion, although they probably need to be upgraded. The right-of-way still exists through Mentone, but that was formerly a Santa Fe Railway line that doubled back to San Bernardino, so land would have to be purchased to extend service to Yucaipa and beyond.

Tracks beyond the University of Redlands no longer exist. They were removed about 6 years ago.

I was wondering how far the tracks went past University Avenue. And by right-of-way I meant that the roadbed where the rails were still exists.

Hey.
I wouldn't suggest moving if you are still going to commute to the OC but if not, Beaumont is a great place to live. I have lived there on and off my whole life and I love it. It is a nice town and there is plenty to do within a half hour driving distance.

Before you make any decisions I would suggest researching it. They have a website called Discover the Pass || Banning, Beaumont, Calimesa, Cherry Valley, Cabazon, Oak Valley, Oak Glen that has information you might want regarding demographics, local businesses, and other info relating to the area.
