There have already been a swarm of tremors/temblors all this week. On the news last night they had a special report on the shaking and said that in the event of a major quake the town of Sky Valley would be cut off from the rest of the desert. The thing is ... I already thought Sky Valley was cut off from us!

Bob -

You might want to stop focusing on the really really really cheap land, as there are very big reasons why the land is really really really cheap. Indeed, you might want to take a vacation here to SoCal first, to really see some of these said areas in the first place. Both places can easily hit 50C in the height of summer, and easily 40C for months.

The bigger issue is lifestyle. While one might be only "hours away from LA", there isn't much of anything desirable near there ... unless you really like that dead rotting smell.

I understand the lure for cheap land, but you will be much better off to end up in a smaller place that's comfortable over a really big place that's inhospitable.

It ain't these days, and neither is Boron, hence why I said that.

It's easy for us to grasp what's wrong when we're 100 miles away. It's not so easy when one is on the other side of the world.
