Default Best neighborhoods in Temecula

HI, what is the best areas (zipcodes) in Temecula.. We would be looking for a safe community with parks and ammenities nearby. Also, commute wise what is the time travel to Encinitas area and Oceanside Pier? Do you prefer Temecula or is the higher cost of living in Vista worth it?

Temecula is a city of less than 100K people with two main residential zip codes: 92591 and 92592. Temecula itself can be defined as a safe community with parks and amenities nearby, so if those are your only criteria, you really can't go wrong with any part of this town. Oceanside is a lot closer than Encinitas, but the commute to either is going to be hefty until they finish the 76. Temecula is head and shoulders above Vista in every way except proximity to the ocean. The only reason I'd live in Vista over Temecula is if there was some amazing job walking distance from the amazing house I was going to live in....otherwise, Temecula for sure (especially if safe is on the top of your priority list).

I know at one point we had gotten over 100K, but with the housing debacle, the population has decreased pretty significantly.....so much that they're closing at least one, maybe more, of the elementary schools due to insufficient enrollment. Oh, so that brings me to another point re Temec and schools: Sparkman will not open for the '09-'10 school year. Most of those kids will go to Vail, some to Paloma, and a few to Abbey Reinke. Just something to keep in mind while people are house hunting. Before you sign a lease or a mortgage, call the district office to confirm what's going on with the school boundaries.

Unless you plan on finding a job here I would stay in Vista because the commute is horrible!!!!!! I went to Sea World for the trainer of the day program during morning rush hour that wasn't very rushed. It took my mom and I forever, like 3 HOURS I would say, to get there from Murrieta with stop and go traffic that was mostly stopping. People say it is like that everyday!!!!!! It would b shorter to Oceanside, but still. I don't understand how people do that!!! I don't have the patience for that!!!!! Temecula does have parks and things, but the crime has gone up unfortunately.
