Treatment at Loma Linda Medical Center - where to live?
I will be moving to this area starting in June for 3 1/2 months for prostate cancer treatment at Loma Linda. I am trying to decide on the best area to live in taking into account quality of life and commute time. I have the following areas to choose from as I have decided to stay at an Oakwoods rental facility, which comes fully furnished:
Redlands
Rancho Cucamonga
Claremont
Loma Linda
Bryn Mawr
Highland
San Bernadino
Mareno Valley
Thanks for any and all help.

From living in Loma Linda and attending Cal State San Bernardino in the late 90's:
Loma Linda is small town with a bit of everything since the Univeristy/High schools/ med ctr is there. Redlands (aka deadlands) very quiet just east of Loma Linda. Bryn Mawr seems more like a neighborhood in Loma Linda, tucked between Loma Linda and Redlands. Rancho and Claremont have more to do, shopping/entertainment, about 30-40min west of LL. Mo-Val is about 30 south east, in a round about drive via 60/215/10 fwy, not much out there. Highlands is nice but about 20min east, not much going on out there too. Best thing about LL/Redlands is the late night WalMart...well, IMO.

I live in Rancho C., which I think is the best city out of your list (& I'm not just saying that because I live there). I had to go to LLMC for a year for doctor visits ranging from every couple of wks to monthly.
The city of RC is very nice, probably the most to do there than any other city on your list. The freeway drive isn't too bad. It takes about 25-35 min from RC to Lomda Linda.
If you like the quaint, small-town feeling, La Verne or Claremont is it, but it's further away from Lomda Linda than RC.
