Hi, I will move to New York City from Riverside, CA. I'm looking for a good home mover.

From Riverside County to Idaho last year we had very good service from United. We also got a quote from Allied and they were pretty similar.

I got a quote a few years ago to go from CA to IN with Golden Eagle in Upland. They were honest, efficient, and I would use them again. They talked about the gimmicks others used to pad their costs and what methods they used to keep costs down. They are definitely worth the call inasmuch as they send a person out to compute the size/weight of the load. Other companies ask you to estimate and charge for the same if you ask for someone to come out. Golden Eagle did not.

Golden Eagle was the United franchise that we used. I would have no problem recommending them.

Check out the General Moving forum and you'll get lots of advise and experience. I learned a great deal reading that while planning my move. Also advise about transporting pets, and that stuff they won't let you put on the moving truck.
