Default Terra Lago Ryland homes- Cristallo

Hi,

We are thinking of buying a New home in the Cristallo community in Terra Lago ( Indio) . The prices are in the $180k range with access to the clubhouse and golf course nearby. Can anyone living there give me some advice, if this is a safe place, how are the schools? I know the HOA is very high something like $265 p.m plus there is something called Melaroose Tax? Is it worth it with all this? Plus, I noticed this community is not gated.

Thanks

Joe

i have never lived in indio, but have driven through it more tims than I can count. From those brief experiences, i can't imagine the schools out there being very good. the only families i've seen out there are immigrant families where the father works in the nearby farms. as you get that far east from palm springs, the neighborhoods certainly decline.

I believe MOST of the developments in Terra Lago went bankrupt, so you want to be careful about what you are getting into. A friend of mine wanted to buy a condo out there on the lake, but the builder, who was in the process of BK (but neglected to tell potential buyers) tried to add all kinds of additional fees to the purchase contract. She reviewed it and backed out of the deal.

Default Did you buy in Terra Lago?

I am thinking of buying there as well...

Just wondering what you decided and if you did move ahead with your purchase, if you are happy with your decission.

Thanks!
Craig
