Hello Everyone:

Could you tell me the good and bad points about living in Whitewater.

We drove by Whitewater on our way to the Outlet Mall in Cabazon....

1. The Wind -- I have heard that it is windy (yep, we saw the windmills)
However, we would only be living in Whitewater during the Winter Months...
So would that be the less windy season, and how bad does the wind really get in the winter?

2. The drive to Palm Springs -- it seemed OK to us, but if there are any
negatives, please don't hesitate to tell us.

3. Anything to do in Whitewater? Or would we be driving to Palm Springs all the time??

Thanks so much for your help !!!

Cheers
PatriciaCanadian

I didn't think anybody actually lived in Whitewater. Most of us just live in the Coachella Valley. That area is windy all the time - doesn't matter what the season is. That's why there are all those windmills out there.

Hey Patricia - why don't you check out the Coachella Valley? La Quinta, Indian Wells, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, parts of Palm Springs, and the newer part of Indio (Shadow Hills). These are very nice areas, I live here, and just a hop, skip and a jump up the 10 freeway from Whitewater.

Default Thanks Twinkle Toes, will do....

Hi again:

Yes, I will do some more research.

We have visited 3 times, and are coming down to Palm Springs again this February.

So, will have almost 3 weeks to scoot around and study the real estate market.

Thanks everyone for all your help,

Cheers
Patricia

the wind blows the hardest in whitewater region in the winter.. mostly due to the cold/dense air temps in the inland empire and the warmer temps in the desert area sucks the air through that canyon. There are days when the wind will blow 60+ mph steadily non-stop. Whitewater is nothing but a rock quarry and a few homes. There are no stores or places to visit there.

Um... Whitewater is CLEARLY in the Coachella Valley, not the Inland Empire. It has the same area codes of 760 and 442, as does the entire valley AND the entirety of the vast desert regions of California. Cabazon, on the other hand, is IN the Inland Empire, and has the same area code of 951.
