Default Any Chefs with Guidance, New in town

Greetings All,

Just moved to Moreno Valley coming from Las Vegas. As a Chef, I find it is going to be a challenge finding work just because the last 12 years I have spent in Vegas. And, I am sure you all know it is quite a different entity entirely.
So, I have been looking on Craigslist and not really coming up with anything.
Could any of you local Chef's recommend the best approach to finding a job out here?
Would really appreciate any input you could give.

Thanks!

hhhmmm...

here's something on indeed.com: chef Salaries in Moreno Valley, CA - Free Salary Search | Indeed.com

Are there temp services that work with placing chefs? Would you want to work on a cruise ship?

If I were you, I'd start with the yellow pages & just work the phone, asking to meet whomever is in charge of hiring. It could take six months to find the right connection. Network!!!

In the meanwhile, you'd have to decide if working in someplace.... humbling just to keep your rez fresh is worth it.

A humbling place holder like a retirement home could be like 'community service'. Maybe. If I'm not out of line in thinking of that! Word could get around & maybe someone who knows somebody could hook you up with a higher end position!

Here's a link for caterers in your area: Moreno Valley Caterers, Catering, CA

I'm not a chef: sorry. Just bored & hope to help you brainstorm *sincerest smile!*

Kate, formerly of LA

Check the Indian casino websites - a lot of them have 2 or 3 restaurants on site. But in this economy, they don't put ads in the paper
And a warning - they can legally "give preference" to a person with Indian background, over a non-Indian.
