I heard Metrolink is supposed to be in Perris by the end of 2010. Is this project still on schedule?

Any word on if or when it might make it as far as Temecula?

It'll be much later than the end of 2010 before the trains even start running.

From Perris Valley Line (http://www.perrisvalleyline.info/schedule.asp - broken link) :

"FTA decided to require a Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) to refresh the 2004 information and to obtain new public comment. RCTC had decided to prepare a full Draft EIR under CEQA in order to clarify concerns and address new station site options. Both sets of studies will be completed in late 2009."

To be exact opening day is going to be 2011. Cost will be $168 million. Added will be a 23 mile extension. Opening day stations will include

South PERRIS I-215
Route 74
Downtown Perris
Moren Valley/March Field
UC Riverside and Hunter Park Business Center in the N end of Riverside.
The different stations will vary in size, but will be opened sometime in 2011.

Have friends who live there, and i keep up with I.E. NEWS.

Red tape in the process always gets in the way of progress! I remember the City of Perris saying in 2008, that they hoped it would be ready by 2010 or 2011. If the above does happen - then they must be working on it now. I should go downtown to see what is going on. Is it on D street or on another street?

I was told that the bus depot is new, but I'm not sure what the Mayor ment. I guess he was talking about the Greyhound bus station.

Just clicked on the link Gandalara posted above, and the timeline shows "Planned Construction" occurring in 2012 and beyond, and at the very end of the graph, at the end of 2013, a flag labeled "PVL In Service" - but those are just flags on a graph, and not even close to firm dates...

So then I went to the front page of that site, and found this...

Quote:
"The project is currently waiting for final federal environmental clearance with construction anticipated to begin in 2012."
If they don't even have the clearance to begin yet, then I would think it's impossible to estimate when they might finish the project.

It seems like someone is going out of their way to deliberately kill this project. We were supposed to get Metrolink service to Temecula by 2010. it's not even in the planning stages anymore.
