Areas to avoid at night in IE
Hi everyone,
I was just reading an article about Compton in the LA forums so it inspired me to post this question to current/former IE residents. I am going to be moving to the Inland Empire area next month. Although I went to school in LA and San Diego, I have never lived in the IE area so I'm not really familiar with it at all. Are there any areas in the Inland Empire that someone new to the area should try to avoid driving through or going to at night because of safety issues? Thank you all in advance for any advice you can give me with regards to this.

Avoid most of San Bernardino, the back streets of Rialto around EHS, any numbered street in Colton.

Thank you for the advice.. I'm assuming that EHS in Rialto is some kind of high school right? And, are these places generally safe to drive through during the day.. just to be avoided at night.

Eisenhower High, Baseline & Lilac.
I'd avoid walking around certain seedier residential parts of Central Fontana, but there's no part of Fontana I avoid driving through or within, anytime day or night. In fact, I do my grocery shopping at the Winco (Foothill/Cherry) either late at night or right before dawn in order to avoid crowds.

Eisenhower High School on baseline. Baseline itself isn't bad but there are little streets you can turn off and it's nothing but dope dealers and thugs. I totally forgot what the street was called but it's a deadend and was one of the worst places I've ever seen but it's within a few blocks of EHS.

Just don't attract any unwanted attention to yourself and you should be fine.

Thank you for the advice everyone. I do plan to (as I usually do) keep a low profile and avoid driving around/going out to do things late at night. Still, it's very helpful to know what some of the less safe areas are in the Inland Empire so that I can avoid them in general unless it is absolutely necessary to go there.

As weird as it may sound, the atypical "ghetto" neighborhoods could also be the safest due to most of police presence being concentrated in those areas.
If anything, it's better to avoid "the sticks" of both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
High speed driving+meth junkies would be out to get anyone that looks out of place.
I used to ride my bicycle alot up and down the National Trails Highway between Victorville and Barstow.
Not only would the desert-rat clowns try to run you off the road, they would pull off later and want to fight for no reason.
