Default What's Beaumont Really Like?

To the east about 30 minutes is college of the desert. To the west 15 minutes is Crafton Hills college, liberal arts school known locally for the fire fighting program. Loma Linda if you want a medical carrer. A community college in San Bernardino about 30 minutes and Cal State San Bernardino about 45 minutes.

Keep in mind, like most of So Cal drive times can easily double or worse depending on weather, traffic or a full moon
I keep hearing different things about Beaumont. Is it really all that windy there? I am thinking of buying a home with my wife and three-year-old daughter. What are the schools like? It seems like such a small town, how can there be gang problems? Are there any areas/schools I should avoid? I would appreciate any help I can get in making this decision.

We get snow, frost all the winter weather 32- degrees and also summers are bone dry and hot, 100+ The Inland Empire is know for all the wack weather even tornadoes. Yes it is very windy like the nearby large cities of San Bernardino and Riverside with pops. of 200,000 +, the 14th largest population in the Nation, but it is safe and the schools are nice and on the good side. (But it that makes it all fun...I LOVE THE IE!)

You are all crazy! BEAUMONT SUCKS, it is the worst city to live in. Just this morning the police were investigating something right around the corner from my new house, there was several police vehicles, command unit, and probably 2 coroner vehicles. On Palm Ave between Oak Valley and Cougar right by the unnecessary stop sign. There is a field between our community and the one on the other side of the stop sign, which is for the power lines. They were looking at something on the ground under one of the power poles. Probably a dead body or two. This is a residential area.

Plus within a year after we moved here one of the biggest pot busts in Beaumont in 10 years happened right nextdoor to me. $2.52 million dollars worth it was a grow house.

Then an indian woman and her 3 sons moved in and they were selling speed, and no telling what else. They finallly left after 7 months of hell!

Then 2 of our vehicles were broken into about 3 months ago!

And there is an outrageous amount of stray dogs running around, most people turn their faces and go on, that really pisses me off, most of the dogs have dumbass owners that mistreat them and throw them out to get hit by cars, starve or abused more. Our neighbors around me let their dogs bark consistently, night and day. They leave them in their backyards with no shelter, water or food. Even in the snow and rain. That includes Sheriff's. Yes we have a sheriff around our neighborhood who mistreats his dogs, no shelter, food or water. They fight to kill each other all the time (several times a day) and he does nothing.

SO WHAT EVER YOU DO DON'T MOVE TO THIS CITY UNLESS YOU DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT ANYONE INCLUDING YOURSELF!!! STAY FAR,FAR AWAY. LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT YOU TALK TO ALSO.

BEAUMONT SUCKS BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hold on there ! before you talk so highly about Yucaipa let me say this over the last 3 yrs more $500 to 700 thousand dollar homes were built there . those same homes are valued now at @ $350,000. city council doesn't say anything about the loss of tax dollars they will be having to handle next year. just like the state of California there is a big HOLE in the budget and property tax rate will have to be " INCREASED"!!!! so I would be very cautios of bying in YUCAIPA untill you see where they will get their budget money from . Yucaipa has very little industrial areas also unlike Redlands.

I too, am thinking of moving to Beaumont, however, I live much closer. I work in Yucaipa and have for 11 years. We've looked at homes in Yucaipa and Beaumont and the comparison of what you get for your money between the two is unbelievable. Homes in Beaumont are huge, new and beautiful for much less than Yucaipa. And, honestly, the homes in Yucaipa cannot compare to Beaumont's. Beaumont is only a few miles up the freeway from Yucaipa and I am sure it will grow in the years to come. They will be adding all the new stores, etc. When you want a better quality of life and don't want to spend every penny on your house but want something really nice, Beaumont sounds like a good place to go.

Default San Jacinto any ideas on getting decorating help?

I want to get away from these stark white walls. I was wondering if a interior decorating student could help or some affordable decorating ideas? When I think of an interior decorator, I think of fancy upscale homes, but although my new home is pretty and fairly new, it is a typical cookie cutter type in a planned community. I want to decorate with green and yellow, ( I think), but the tile is beige and the carpet is also. I will buy new furniture, but have a denim sofa that I don't know if I can get to fit into the color scheme. I really have never painted a color on the walls in the living areas. Any help or leads are appreciated! Thanks.

I think Beaumont is a great place to live. It is only windy for about two weeks out of the year. There are plenty of businesses in town and the schools are pretty good.
Banning gets a little windier and the schools are not as good.

Check out Discover the Pass || Banning, Beaumont, Calimesa, Cherry Valley, Cabazon, Oak Valley, Oak Glen for demographic info, local businesses, houses for rent, ...

If you're working in Indio you should look into La Quinta or Palm Desert. Those areas are much closer and very nice. Twinkle Toes is the expert on the area. No reason to live in Beaumont if you work in Indio.
