dont know about those specific schools, but you can always apply for an intradistrict transfer(otherwise called open enrollment or simply "choice"). generally, there is a cutoff for the following year sometime in late winter/early spring, but if kids are moving mid schoolyear you may be able to get away with it. result would be sending your kids to a school in another neighborhood which would mean they'd make no friends in your own

I am a mom of three (almost 4), and given all your options, I would go with the pool home zoned for Temecula Middle School. Even just for practical purposes, Margarita Middle school is on Margarita Rd., which is a major street for people going from one end of Temecula to the other, so when school starts or gets out, the traffic is a nightmare, and it is very close to commercial buildings as well. Temecula Middle School is on Meadows Pkwy, which has nothing but houses around it. Not a main Rd. for traveling through town. No gas station/Grocery store practically across the street. I just feel better about kids walking on that street and in that area.
Now, I know people who have sent their kids to Margarita Middle School and have been very happy, but I also know several families who's neighborhoods might get re-zoned to go to Margarita, and they are not pleased. One father is a border patrol officer, and I never did get his reasoning, but he does not want his children at Margarita- he would actually even prefer James L. Day (which is lower rating academically) than Margarita. Again, I didn't talk to him about his reasons, but I thought it was interesting that he felt so strongly.
Those are just my two cents!

Most that live in Deluz send their kids to private schools like Hill Crest, Linfield, etc. or have college aged children. All Temecula schools teach the same state standard book text. Some schools have more eager teachers than other, some schools have children that come from more involved parenting tactics and those combos affect school scores. For the most all the schools change somewhat yearly.
If you plan to stay you should be more aware of middle and high school boundries. Over the next two years if is going to be more difficult to make intradistrict transfers do to current restructuring of the High School boundries. DeLuz is more isolated where as your middle school child would have more contact with friends outside of school by TMS and if involved in outside sports or music the weekly commute to activies would be more enjoyable.

You can't go wrong in Temecula. Temecula is an excellent place and it is growing. All three high schools are excellent. I have friends that went to Chaparral and they rave about the academics and extracurricular activites.

so i arrived in temecula and i found the right house, with own swimming pool, spacious, all ,what i wanted, had luck and i am very happy. The house in De luz (rolling stones..i found them horrible)was absolutely beautiful and had a great pool, but i did not like de luz at all.I would not live there, even,if you pay me.The stones, the area was depressing,i did not see the beauty in it (you can not discuss taste),i felt the area is so lifeless, not green,so dead.
I liked meadowview, crown hills and most chardonnay hills, where we also intend to buy in 12,18 months.
I decided for Margarita Midlle school, because from all schools,i was most impressed with this principale. She is absolutely great and very helpful, ready to accelerate my child,if needed.
he is in an advanced class, but he has the possibility, even to take classes already now in high school,if he is smart enough. The principale is absolutely great and ready to find the best solution.
I like the house,we found, very much, the great pool, the neighborhood, the school, shopping, going out possibilities, good location between la and san diego. All in all, i like temecula.I do not mind the traffic around school at pick up,because i came from a big german city. I do not commute,my husband does, but he does not complain,he got a great position and it is worth.
All in all i like temecula,i still drive around, discover places, but till now,i like, what i see.People, that i met,are great. So the first impressions..very good.I am looking forward to leave the temporary living and move into my sweet new home, start to decorate it,make it cozy..the shopping posibilities are great,i like this very much.

Yay! I have been wondering about you guys I have lived here for a few years, and there are still new places I haven't been, new things to discover. Glad you're happy with your decision and are settling in nicely!
