My husband and I are relocating to California within the next few months. He already has a job in which he is transferring within the same company. I am a nurse and will look for a job after we move there. Since my husband is going to be commuting to the outskirts of Moreno Valley for work, we feel Murrieta has the best commute within a half hour and the best schools. The reason we are going to look for a rental in the Murrieta area is because our number one concern is living in a good school district which has a decent commute to work for my husband.

We would choose somewhere in OC with great schools, but with our rental budget, it would be difficult.

Does anyone have advice on specific neighborhoods/areas of Murrieta that are more family friendly with better elementary schools than other parts of Murrieta? We will be looking to rent homes with a budget of $1400-$1600 per month. Thanks for any advice.

Do you know any specifics on family friendly neighborhoods in Murrieta? I know all of Murrieta is considered a nice place to live, but there are always your more family friendly communities.

Lisa J. Mails is where we have our Children in school. We moved here a couple of years ago and rented for the first year to get a feel for the schools and the area. We placed our kids at Mails and have been very surprised at how good of a school it is. We liked it so much that we decided to buy a house a mile from the school. You'll have to play your cards well however as the waiting list for intra-district transfers is very long now. Your best bet will be to find a place within the school zone. Good luck!

Hi! Thank you for this email chain! I am the Business Development Manager for the City of Murrieta and have lived here (currently own two houses) in Murrieta for 7 years... most of our neighborhoods here are great, and the schools the same -- it is hard to go wrong. How old are your kids? Murrieta Mesa High School just opened and it is more like a junior college than a high school. You will be happy to know that Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta is starting their hiring process for their new 106-bed hospital and their medical office building. Please contact me if I can be of further assistance to you and your family. We are happy to have you here and welcome you to our beautiful city! -Kim Davidson, City of Murrieta 951.461.6003 kdavidson@murrieta.org
