Hello. I am wondering if anyone can tell me anything about Chino Hills as far as living there with a family. Are there any drawbacks? So far I hear all good things. We are looking at affording about $1500 rent, and when we buy only around $300,000. Will we be able to be in a good neighborhood with good kids for that? I also want to be able to work within 30 minutes away or so during rush hour in maybe insurance/customer service, and then Human Resources once I can break into that industry after finishing my degree. Can anyone tell me if this is feasible? We also are concerned with where the kids go to school and what kind of kids they will be around. We recently moved to a mountain community where the kids are awful, cussing all the time, bigger kids causing problems at bus stops for little kids, and just an overall poorer community with a lot of issues with the kids. But we are also not rich, so looking for something in between where the families are more like us. My husband works in City of Industry and is an IT professional, so I think the commute would be reasonable. Thx.

Chino Hills is a very family oriented community, though the older parts (Los Serranos) isn't all that good.

My take on finding good neighborhoods ... follow the schools. Better areas and high API's follow one-another.

FWIW, when I was house hunting, I also looked in Chino Hills (and Diamond Bar), but found it to be more expensive than what I could get further up the 71 in the Phillips Ranch area of Pomona. Just don't consider the other parts of Pomona.
