Default Moving to SD area...

Hello, well my fiance and i are planning on moving to the SD area in a couple of months for his new job. he will be headquartered in carlsbad and we're looking for apartments/condo's in that area. also possibly oceanside. we now live in sac and rent a nice home and really don't want to downgrade too too much but know that moving to SD is extremely expensive. Can anyone suggest any newer (only a couple years old) condo or apartments in these areas that would be a nice place to live???? we'd like something close to the beach if possible and pretty much a rental with everything that comes with a new condo/apartment. We do have a dog so i'm sure that'll make a difference. We've only visited SD so we're not terribly familiar with the "good" and "bad" parts of SD. Any info anyone could give us would be extemely helpful! Thanks!

Oceanside and Carlsbad are mostly two different worlds with few similarities. Which one is best for you depends on your specific needs, but what it basically boils down to is families with children should move to Carlsbad due to lower crimes (in some areas) and better schools. If you don't have children you may be able to move to Rancho Del Oro (the nice, master planned part of Oceanside) and maybe save some money. Carlsbad (as a whole) is considered by many to be nicer (as a whole) then Oceanside, however.
