Default Carlsbad Rentals

I am looking at a job in this area and was wondering where to find an apt at thats not to expensive I don't care about living around alot of singles I am more concerned about expensive rent, low crime, I don't mind the commute.. I would like a 1bed or 2 nothing over $1000 a month....I prefer private owners as they sometimes are not as expensive....I don't have to have a swimming pool...

Are in of these close to Carlsbad like 30mins or less. I have no idea about these places but they were located on craiglist and the cheapest rent I could fine. PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK THANKS

El Cajon
S Park
N Park
Chula Vista
Imperial Beach

Rents will be higher near the coast. If you want cheaper rents and decent living in a central spot, and relatively safe, Mira Mesa isn't a bad choice. It gets a bad rap sometimes, but it's harmless. Uneventful as heck, but decent all around and central to everything and a good rental value.

I live in Chula Vista so let me fill you in on that one.People slam South Bay cities so much on here it drives me crazy. There is not that much wrong with CV.Most people who put Chula Vista on blast are the North County people who think it is not a great place to live because it is not like upscale like N.County.The only things wrong with Chula Vista might be the street robberies, auto theft(not as bad as it used to be) and the public transportation.Crime rate is average because it is an average middle class city.Out of all places to live in the county El Cajon and Chula Vista might be some of the best. Don't let the people who put CV on blast fool you.I lived here at Moss&Broadway,4th and L and now on East H.Two of those of which people claim to be "rough or ghetto".Nothing major has ever happened to me the 19 years I have lived in CV.Finally the cost of living is cheaper;even the gas prices are lower down here.I hope I helped with this one and once again STOP WITH THE "SOUTH BAY NEGATIVITY"

The only real knock I have on South Bay is the fact that it is so far south. If I were just moving here, I'd look for something a little more central.

A commute from South Bay to North County is pretty brutal. In a place like Mira Mesa, you could even commute to OC if you were desparate enough. When relocating, I think its smarter to centrally locate yourself for flexibility.

I have a friend who lives in Carlsbad and as far as finding anything in the price range you might be looking for might be a little tough, to say the least.

Yes I agree with you I finally found a map and saw where these places are located which is not close and close to Tijuana I don't want to be that close to Mexico ....from the previous person I know that I won't find anything in Carlsbad that's why I was looking for input from others on different cities to look into.

Anybody have any insight on
Oceanside
Encininatas
Rancho Santa Fe
San Marco
San Luis Rey
Vista

You need to take a moment and do some research. Check the wikipedia entries for these cities. Search the forum for previous posts about these cities.

If you are looking for cheap rent you will not find it in Rancho Santa Fe, it is the 2nd wealthiest zip in the country. On the other end of the spectrum, there are areas in O'side and Vista which have serious crime problems.

As for "living close to mexico", if you live in Southern California you are already living as close as you are gonna get.

I agree with you, but I think you need think about the level of negativity you post about other places too. Everything's got it's good and bad areas. The best part about this forum is that people can post those details that only a resident really knows. Next time you make a post with a laundry list of "ghettos", remember someone else could just as easily say the same about Chula Vista.
