I am very confused. Texas and California have reciprocity, so I was granted a temporary (TC-1) credential in the subject of English (I am NCLB highly qualified in this subject). My question, how do I go about gaining my Special Education credential and my English learner permit? Do I have to take a class, a test, what?? It all seems very complicated and conflicting. I was told there was a San Diego county office that could help me, but I need the name so I can call. Any suggestions?

This is easy to google: San Diego County Office of Education: SDCOE
....and yes, they are fairly useless. Good luck!

I called about a job fair last summer and the lady was on the phone with me for about 25 minutes and it was at the end of her work day. She also sent me many maps, district layouts, info I would need...Granted, most were attachments, but she did not have to take the time to send me an e-mail after talking to me for so long. She helped me a lot.
