Default Best Banks for Small Business Accounts

Hi,

I'm starting up a small business soon and am wondering what the best bank (local or national) is for opening up a business checking account. Any advice would be appreciated.

Union Bank is my business bank. I like them but they are very conservative. Depends on what sort of banking needs you have.

We use Chase for both our business and personal checking, and have never had any issues.

Go to Citibank in Pacific Beach and ask for Kari. She's wonderful.

Thanks for all your recommendations. If it's not too much, what specifics are you basing your preferences on?

I like convenience, low fees, and online banking. What are your biz bank criteria?

If you're thinking of applying for any SBA money, the smaller credit union banks are best. Look for one that actually completes loans...not the big banks that advertise they "participate" in SBA loans. Allowing you to apply, and actually approving the loan, are 2 different things.

If you're looking for a business loan, talk with SCORE: https://www.score-sandiego.org/index.asp

SCORE is sponsored by the SBA. They will help you get a loan. No charge.
