Default how to move...

Okay, so I'm moving out to San Diego (Downtown) for grad school in August from New York. My question is how would someone suggest I buy furniture (I already have an apartment). I can't decide if it's better to order a bed online to come when I get there or if I should wait till I'm in SD and find a bed... the floor can't be that bad.

Thanks.

All the way from NY? You driving? I would sell everything and start fresh. It's just furniture.

I have moved across the country several times....Sell everything and get new stuff when you get here it is much cheaper. As soon as you get to San Diego you will find a bunch of new or used furniture you can buy online and pick up the same day that you get here.

Either sell everything so that you can pack what's left into your car, or if you find that you are going to have to ship or haul stuff, then don't sell anything and bring it all with you. Just don't go the halfway route, unless your selling your snowblower or something like that.
