Default Living in the vicinity of reactors a problem??

Hi,

Are there any long terms effects of living in the vicinity of a reactor. I have seen a couple of reactors as I drive on I5.

Are these working reactors or are they decommissioned?

Appreciate.

What is the exact address of these reactors or the zip code. It helps to know the distance of these reactors from where you are living.

San Onofre's closer to San Clemente than it is to Oceanside (the accepted farthest north San Diego metro area town). Whenever you pass it going north, I always know San Clemente's just a few more minutes away. I think it's technically the town of San Onofre, but if that doesn't work, just find out how close you are to San Clemente, minus a few miles.

I have worked at San Onofre for ten years. It is probably safer to live near there than a railroad yard. We have an excellent safety record.

Unit 1 is decommission and almost completely dismantled. Units 2 and 3 were built in the late 70's and early 80's .The NRC just gave us a 30 year extension on our license to operate.

As a side note.....some of the best surfing is done within yards of the plant. There are literally hundreds of people on the beach here as I write this.

Any questions, just email me.

What I have heard is that there are some ill effects of living close to a reactor (though people hate to admit the same). I just wanted to know where they were located so that I could compute the distance.

As a side note, is the reactor anywhere close to a fault line?

Thanks...
