I have a ring that was passed down and have absolutely no sense of its value.

A relative would like to use it as his wedding/ engagement ring, somehow, not as it is, but maybe mixed in or repurposed. Is there a reliable jeweler he can go to that will give him a true worth/value of the ring. He is going in with no knowledge of its worth. It looks pretty and has diamonds, but for all we know it could be fake diamonds. He would like to work with that jeweler to design what he wants, but is worried someone will give him a low value to take advantage of him.

Anyone know of or have experience with a jeweler or appraiser in the area that someone with limited jewelry knowledge can go and trust?

Thanks

You can trust this guy: Ipanema Watch & Jewelry - Roseville - San Diego, CA
A nice person and a good jeweler. Read his yelp reviews.

The owner's name is Uilis Volpato. If he can't help you, ask him for a referral.

We use and love Bulfer's Fine Jewelry of La Jolla. It's a husband and white team and they are really great.
