Default Couches in SD

How is the quality of Ikea couches? Versus West Elm, Crate-n-Barrel? Any good recs for one with 10 year old kids?

Where's a good quality/ reasonably priced all in one furniture place in the Encinitas area? In the southeast we have a place called Rooms-to-Go, anything like that out west?

You might want to try googling the specific sofa you're looking for. I have looked into Ikea's Ektorp which has some decent reviews but whenever I look at their sofas in the store, they always look terrible. I don't expect to hear anything good about West Elm's. I think Crate and Barrel has some good sofas. Depending on their frame warranties, I think I would look into those.

If you are looking for the modern, sleeker, smaller sized stuff, try this place:
Direct Digs

We got our couch there, very sleek and modern houndstooth tweed, custom made, was under 1500 dollars and much higher quality than anything at Ikea. West Elm and Crate and Barrel can be good too, we just liked this place better. For the kid-proofing, I'd go with a leather sofa instead of upholstered.

Be careful if you get used stuff, Bedbugs might be riding it out in the couch until they get to a nice, cozy home such as yours.

My experience with Ikea stuff is that if there's any moving parts, they will eventually break. That being said, an Ikea couch is still a couch that I wouldn't waste $300-$1000 on.

There is one place that sells pretty good quality, affordable furniture, Jerome's. My sister has a couch she got from that store about 5 years ago, it's still holding up, and she got it for $400.

I agree, but I bought mine from Salvation Army for $67, and it was nice and clean. I saw the matching chair in another store, but couldn't buy it due to lack of space.
