Hey all you San Diegans! I'm coming down this Saturday for the ComicCon and was wondering what the smartest way to go about this is. I know parking DT is supposed to be terrible when the Convention is going on, so I was thinking of either... A) Driving down to Old Town and catching the trolley, or B) Taking Amtrak... Amtrack costs $61 round-trip and is about a 3 hour drive each way. What do you think the better option is, or do you have a better idea altogether? Thanks!

The walk from the station to the convention center will be only a few blocks, and the area is safe. Absolutely that is doable.

Driving would cost $20 in gas, and you could probably find some all day parking on the outskirts of downtown for $10 or less, and then hoof it to the convention center 10 or so blocks. It's up to you to decide if $30 is worth it for not having to drive 3 hours down and 3 hours back up. If you sit on the correct side of the train, you'll have a rather scenic ocean view.
