Default La Jolla

Hey guys, so it looks like I will be moving to La Jolla in June! I am going to be working at UCSD La Jolla and Hillcrest. I was wondering what are some cool/fun things to do or visit in La Jolla? I am a 24 yr old male.

I was in La Jolla this afternoon with some out-of-town guests. They really enjoyed watching the seals: La Jolla Friends of the Seals - Preserving a Unique Natural Treasure

I would consider living in Hillcrest. La Jolla is pricey (Whole Foods prices are silly).

Hillcrest more of a neighborhood feel, smaller homes, gay lifestyle which I think brings an eclectic mix of artsy/foody/fun mix. Not sayin' but if I were going to make that choices I would like the smaller markets. The commute to Hillcrest from La Jolla can be quite ugly and it's better coming North IME. I would recommend you get here rent at the Marriott and look around... Enjoy.

I would second the opinion to consider living in Hillcrest. If you're affiliated with UCSD, there's a shuttle that can take you back and forth between.

Yeah, Hillcrest or North Park.

Rent for a while and have a look around.

Pacific Beach is also not too far from UCSD. It's somewhat of a party town.

people are making a great point about living in Hillcrest. I am not sure of your schedule, but if it is typical daytime work hours then the reverse commute is easier. There are more young people in Hillcrest also. It has a thriving gay community (although any and everyone is comfortable there) and there is a lot of energy.
