Default traveling to San Diego

I will be traveling to San Diego for a travel nursing position and wonder if anyone knows of any sites that I can go to to find a room for rent for the 13 weeks I am there. I tried Craigslist but all I got was a bunch of nuts replying to my ad. Any info appreciated

Try calling an off-brand hotel or motel. They often have unpublished monthly rates.

This place caters to military people and will probably make you a good deal: Western Inn Old Town San Diego Discount Hotel

Also, try the Loma Lodge in Point Loma. It's clean and inexpensive.

Not sure what area(s) of town you are going to be working in, but a pretty central location close to the hospitals in Hillcrest is the Sommerset Suites Hotel.

The suites are spacious, and the hotel offers free breakfast as well! A direct call telling them your situation will probably net you a discounted rate. We did this when we first moved to SD and needed a place for a few weeks, we got a great deal.

I will be working at the University of San Diego Medical Center for 13 weeks as a travel RN. I didn't want to bring my car but wanted to be close to public transportation--it is cheaper to fly from SD to Phoenix than drive.

There seems to be many locations for USD Medical Center, but most of them are in the Hillcrest area. Sommerset Suites is literally a 5-10 minute walk to the center, plus public transit is right outside the door.
