Hello!

I am planning on moving to Southern California when I finish Physical Therapy school. I am wondering where would be good areas for me to consider.
- I am a female, will be in my late 20s and want a safe area (aka..somewhere where Id feel safe walking my dog alone in the evening).
- I will be making around $60,000
-I would prefer to be within 30 minutes of the beach
- I am very interested in areas near San Diego (within 20 minutes) or maybe carlsbad/encinitas

I really appreciate any suggestions!! Thanks

Well, your area to live may depend on where exactly in San Diego you are employed(and I'm guessing you wouldn't make the move without a job first?).

Couldn't go wrong with Carlsbad though. Pretty nice area. Relatively safe. Although in some areas, as in most towns, you may need two dogs with you.

Im not saying for someone your age that it's the perfect place for you, but I do think that you will find it very, very SAFE. You would be less than 30 minutes from a beach, and when my family and I lived there it was the safest place I've ever felt.
CHULA VISTA Eastlake area , its definitely less than 20 minutes from downtown San Diego. Its a great suburban community of San Diego I can only hope that you research it for work and home.
Thanks,
bunky

Parts of La Mesa are very nice. Especially La Mesa Village. Tons of dog walkers around here. And the surrounding hills will keep both you and the dog in shape.
