As a big fan of Barry Bonds, I want to express my gratitude to the fans of San Diego who attended the game and cheered Bonds when he hit 755. It really was a monumental occasion, and to show such support like that really was touching.

Thanks San Diego! You just moved up a notch in my book!

As a Giants fan that lives part time in San Diego, I thought it was awesome that if it couldn't have been done in SF, that it was at Petco.

When the Padres lost to the Yankees at the 98 World Series, the mostly San Diego crowd which had just seen their teamed whipped 0-4 gave the Yankees a rousing victory cheer. San Diego is a decent place filled with mostly well-behaved people and sports fans. Frankly, the reception Bonds received was to be expected. At least by San Diego standards.

Thanks guys for taking the time to notice.

Sounds like a complete 180 from the beginning of the season when a syringe was thrown in Bonds' direction and was booed.

EDIT: I just realized it was last year. LOL

It's hard to quantify why you like one city over another. But let me give you this; it is things like this, that have won me over.

Last time the Giants came to philly (a couple weeks ago), the philly crowd boo'd him throughout the whole game. Three & half hours later and they're still booing and throwing things.

The socal kids that I've met have been some of the most laid back, positive vibed, chillinest people I've ever met.

Which is why San Diego has a low crime rate.
